Criw Cymraeg is made of representatives from classes Year 1 to Year 6. We meet as a group every Thursday to focus on Welsh aspects in our school. We are currently working on attaining a Cymraeg Campus Bronze Award and this means we have lots of targets to achieve. We achieve these targets by using lots of Welsh during our day to day tasks and discussing what we can do to improve the amount of Welsh we use. We are working hard to help our teachers to make sure they are using the language every day in and outside of the classroom also! We also have a Welsh assembly every Wednesday where we practise different Welsh games, Welsh songs and Welsh phrases that we encourage children to use daily around the school. We also go on visits around the school to check that Welsh has a strong focus in our classrooms and other parts of the school building. We have lots of Welsh rewards for the use of Welsh in our school. We give out Tocyn Iaith Gymraeg (a Welsh Language token) which we record on our Dojo rewards. The top children in each class receive a certificate from each class and have a chance to take home our Welsh Mascots for a few days. We are working hard to make Welsh fun and important and we hope you will support us!
Diolch (thank you)
Hwyl fawr! (goodbye)
